The Buds & Blades Landscape Company of Rochester has won a pair of Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP) awards, according to a news release.
Buds & Blades was awarded the WALP Award of Distinction for an innovative annual color project, and Buds & Blades founder Rick Longnecker was named the WALP 2024 Contractor Member of the Year.
The Contractor Member of the Year award recognizes someone for their significant contributions to the landscape industry and leadership within the industry.
A member of the WALP since 1994, Longnecker founded Buds & Blades in 2005. The business has carried out landscape maintenance work in both Thurston and Lewis counties since. He also serves on the WALP Education Foundation board.
“We’re deeply honored to receive this recognition from WALP,” said Nicole Longnecker, who designed the annual color project and provided oversight for installation. “This annual color project exemplifies our team’s dedication to creating outdoor spaces that blend beauty with functionality, and improve the lives of our customers.”
