The Rochester football team’s season came to an end in Lakewood on Saturday, as the 1A Evergreen League champions fell to Life Christian Academy 36-22.
The Eagles and Warriors were tied at 6 after one, but a pair of Life Christian touchdowns and two-point conversions put the Eagles up 16 at halftime.
Life Christian extended its lead to 22 early in the third, and the Warriors never got closer than 14 from there on out.
Ethan Rodriguez capped his stellar season with 240 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. He finished his junior season with 1,568 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Tristan Nelson added 51 yards on the ground, and Chris Tartios finished with 47.
The Warriors end their season as 5-5 and will graduate nine seniors, including Carson Rotter, Lucas McIntire, and Nelson.
PWV loses crossover against Friday Harbor
The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley Titans lost their 2B crossover on Saturday, falling to Friday Harbor 24-21 in Oak Harbor.
The Titans battled back from a 17-0 deficit to get within a score, but the Wolverines were able to hold on for the win and punch their ticket to state.
PWV finishes its season 5-5 and will graduate eight seniors, including Nate Fluke and Cody Strozyk.
