The Warriors had just one golfer in their low-four break 50 and that was the difference in losing to Hoquiam 175-201 on Monday afternoon in a Class 1A Evergreen League dual at Highland Golf Course.
Daymond Cole was the meet medalist for the Grizzlies after carding a 39. Boden Grimm was Rochester’s low golfer with a 49 while both Clayton Knutson and Kohlton Wayland each fired a 50. Cash Edminster rounded out the scoring four with a 52.
“I'm really proud of how our team competed starting our season with what is probably our most difficult test in terms of courses we'll play,” first-year Rochester coach Brian Keese said.
The Warriors will face Elma on Wednesday at Oaksridge.
