“We knew that Toledo was a very consistent team,” MWP coach Jamie Brazil said. “We went five hard sets, and I’m proud of how our girls fought. We left it all on the court tonight. Even though the outcome wasn't what we wanted, our grit and heart showed in every rally.”
MWP (9-8, 2-6 C2BL) is now in a three-way tie with Adna and Napavine for the league’s final two district tournament spots. The T-Wolves will head to Toledo along with the Pirates and Tigers on Friday for a tiebreaker to determine who gets those postseason berths.
Toledo (14-3, 5-3 C2BL) will play a loser-out first round matchup on Saturday at the P2BL’s No. 1 seed against the winner of the C2BL’s No. 7 seed (determined by the tiebreaker Friday) and the P2BL’s No. 4, which will either be Chief Leschi or Ilwaco.
