Riverhawks Sweep Mules in Run-Rule Fashion

The Toledo baseball team fell behind early but came back in a big way, beating Wahkiakum 12-1 for the second straight time in a Central 2B League game that was moved to Castle Rock due to a shortage of umpires.

The Mules took advantage of a walk, an error, and a double to take a 1-0 lead on Rogan Stanley in the top of the first, and held the Riverhawks scoreless in the bottom half of the inning.

From there, though, Stanley held Wahkiakum hitless, and Toledo pounded out nine runs in the second to take control of the proceedings.

Stanley finished with eight strikeouts in the shortened complete game, though he did walk eight. Caiden Schultz went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBIs and two more runs scored for Toledo, while both Rayder Stemkoski and Gavin Frewing added two RBIs of their own.

Toledo is set to host Ocosta in a non-league matchup Saturday.
