Riverhawks stay alive with win over Ravens

The Toledo girls basketball team extended its season on Tuesday, winning an elimination game over Raymond-South Bend in the 2B District 4 tournament 49-43.

The Riverhawks took a six-point lead after one and pushed it to eight by halftime, but the Ravens didn’t go quietly in the second half.

Toledo was able to hold on, however, advancing out of loser-out territory.

Ryan Stanley scored 14 points and had eight rebounds, while Kailea Lairson scored nine points and grabbed 10 boards.

Ellie Fallon scored nine and Stefani Arceo-Hansen scored eight and hauled in six rebounds.

Because of the win, the Riverhawks will now have two chances to claim a state tournament berth. They could do it as soon as Thursday, when a win over Toutle Lake would put them in the third-place game, but if they fall to the Ducks, they’ll have to win the fifth-place game on Saturday against the loser of Adna and Forks.
