The Toledo boys basketball team handed Adna its first league loss of the season on Saturday, as the Riverhawks took down the Pirates on the road 54-47.

Toledo got on the board first, and the Riverhawks maintained a slim lead throughout the first half. The Riverhawks pushed that lead to nine in the third, and they were able to do enough in the fourth to come away with the win.

“We got a full team effort tonight,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “We just had the momentum and we kept that, and we were able to just hold on.”

Conner Hill hit five threes en route to finishing with a team-high 17 points, and he also added seven rebounds. Cooper Fallon added 16 points, 20 rebounds, and six blocks.

Eli Weeks scored 12 points, Adam Kruger added seven points and five assists, and Tyce Vigre scored a pair of points and came down with seven rebounds.

Grayson Humphrey and Gavan Muller did what they could to keep the Pirates in the game, combining for 32, and Trevin Salme scored eight.

With the win, Toledo gained a game on Adna in the standings, but still sits one game back of first. Adna still leads the way at 10-1, while Napavine is 9-1 and Toledo is 9-2.

“It was like a playoff atmosphere,” Grady Fallon said. “It was a lot of fun. It’ll be another battle sometime down the road.”

Toledo (13-2, 9-2 C2BL) will head to Napavine to face the Tigers on Monday in another key C2BL clash, while Adna (13-3, 10-1 C2BL) will head north to face Rainier, which sits in fourth.
