Fueled by three in double figures and 41 points in the opening half, the Toledo High School boys basketball team triumphed over Mossyrock 70-40 on Thursday night at home. The game was rescheduled from Wednesday.
Up eight after the first quarter, the Riverhawks (2-0, 2-0 C2BL) erupted for a 23-point second quarter to put the game in cruise control. Cooper Fallon paced them with 19 points and 13 boards while Trevin Gale registered 16 and 10 rebounds plus Conner Hill contributed 11.
“Kind of sluggish,” Toledo head coach Grady Fallon said of the start. “We couldn’t really get in the flow in the beginning. When we push the ball, get the tempo going, it opens up so many things.”
Mossyrock (3-4, 3-4) saw its two-game winning streak snapped. Freshman Colby Cournyer led the way with 16 points for the Vikings, who will face Onalaska at home on Friday night before two straight non-league games next week.
Toledo will look to stay perfect when the new year starts against Toutle Lake on Jan. 2.
