For the third straight game, the Toledo High School baseball team was involved in a wild back-and-forth affair, but came away with a 9-8 walk-off triumph over Kalama on Saturday morning at home.

After upending Rainier 17-16 less than 24 hours prior to first pitch, Toledo (10-3) was sent into celebration on Nico Acosta’s game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh. The inning started with back-to-back strikeouts, then two straight walks to put the tying run in scoring position.

Kalama opted to intentionally walk Rohan Feigenbaum to load the bases. Eli Weeks was plunked on a full count to set up Acosta’s heroics. The Riverhawks tied the game at 3-3, 4-4 and 7-7, answering the Chinooks each time.

Feigenbaum finished 3-for-4 with a double while Acosta drove in three runs and stole three bases. Toledo drew nine walks in the contest and it now prepares to take on Napavine in the first of two critical C2BL games on Monday.
