Aaron’s is celebrating its return to its former location at the Twin City Town Center in Chehalis with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.

The event is set for noon on Friday, Oct. 13, at 1355 NW Louisiana Ave. in Chehalis. It will feature an appearance by Mr. Twister Balloon Guy, free barbecue, giveaways and special sales.

Aaron’s is a locally owned business with a mission to meet the everyday needs of the local community, the chamber stated in a news release.

Owner Melissa Goulter said the store — which specializes in rent-to-own furniture and appliances — originally occupied the space at the Twin City Town Center for 12 years before relocating to Gold Street for the past five years.

She said her mother moved to the area 18 years ago to open Aaron’s and recently died, so the return to the previous space is especially significant, allowing the legacy of her mother to live on.

“We are here for the community,” Goulter said. “We are humbled by the support of fellow businesses and our customers … Aaron’s provides basic needs for many and we strive to work with everyone regardless of their financial situation. We want to create a positive atmosphere so that people leave feeling good, even if they walked in having a bad day.”

Goulter said the caring nature of the staff at the business is also part of the legacy that lives on.
