Republican candidate for governor Dave Reichert will visit Chehalis for a fundraiser on Monday, March 25, according to a news release from the Conservative Coalition of Lewis County.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. at Jester Auto Museum and Event Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Bonanza BBQ. Space is limited. To reserve a seat, message or call 206-919-5797.

The Conservative Coalition of Lewis County formed in 2023 after a period of turmoil in the Lewis County Republican Party that included an attempt to oust Chairman Brandon Svenson, who has since described the coalition as a “small group of moderates.” The group still describes itself as Republican.

Reichert is one of two frontrunners on the Republican side of the race to replace Gov. Jay Inslee, who is serving out his final term. The other is Misipati Semi Bird, who has been endorsed by the Lewis County Republican Party.

Reichert is a former U.S. representative for Washington’s Eighth Congressional District and sheriff of King County best known by many for his work leading to the arrest of Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer.

At the Lewis County Republican Convention in February, Bird won an unofficial straw poll of attendees with 63 votes, compared to the 28 votes Reichert received.
