Reenactors Hold Revolutionary War Era ‘Living History’ Encampment in Chehalis

The Spirit of 76 Living History Association held a Revolutionary War-era encampment this past weekend at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis.

Included in the encampment were an artillery division with working replica cannons, an armorer, musicians and drummers, cooks, and even a full-size replica pinnace — a type of long boat propelled by oars and small sails that was launched from larger ships during the era.

The encampment focused on the historical aspects of British colonial exploration efforts by Royal Navy Captain George Vancouver from 1791 to 1795.

As a registered local nonprofit, the Spirit of 76 Living History Association is made up of Washingtonians dedicated to presenting and educating anyone interested about the American Revolutionary War era.
