Rectangle Gallery’s ninth annual Young Artists Exhibition opens in downtown Centralia

Twenty-six young artists showcased their talent to their community on Friday as the Rectangle Gallery and Creative Space in downtown Centralia opened its ninth annual Young Artists Exhibition.

The opening gala for the exhibit was the gallery’s First Friday event for April.

“This special evening is all about encouraging and supporting the next generation of artists as they showcase their work in a professional gallery setting — many for the very first time!” Rectangle Gallery states in a description of the event online. “ … Your support means the world to these budding artists as they take their first steps into the art world.”

The exhibit is open to local youth ages 7 to 12.

The kids’ art pieces will remain on display at the Rectangle Gallery through the month of April. All pieces are for sale, with all proceeds going back to the artists.

The Rectangle Gallery, located at 209 N. Tower Ave. in Centralia, is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
