A machine recount of ballots cast in the Aug. 2, primary election is required for Cinebar Republican precinct committee officer (PCO) position.
The candidates in the race are Clarence Lupo and Carla Askew. The most recent count put Askew ahead by just one vote.
The Lewis County Auditor’s office stated the process will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, with the Lewis County Canvassing Board then certifying the amended certificate of election that day at 1 p.m.
The proceedings are open to the candidates as well as members of the public.
