A Randle woman who allegedly tried to run over a man during an argument on Sunday has been arrested and charged with assault.
The Chronicle is not naming the woman in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
The two reportedly got into an argument outside of a Randle residence sometime before 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to court documents. During the argument, the woman allegedly got into her car and drove it towards the man.
The alleged victim told police he had to “jump inside to avoid being struck by the car,” which ultimately crashed into the residence.
When questioned by deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the woman stated “she drove on some wet grass and her vehicle slid into the (residence) causing damage to the (residence) and her vehicle,” according to court documents.
A witness reportedly told deputies they saw the woman get into her car, back up, then drive into the residence where the alleged victim was standing in an attempt to strike (the victim).”
The woman has been charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence, and was being held at the Lewis County Jail on $50,000 bail as of Wednesday afternoon.
