Firefighters and emergency crews out of Randle and Packwood put out a fire on Sunday that had engulfed an off-grid cabin and RV.
Lewis County Fire District 14 — also known as Randle Fire & EMS — said on Facebook after the incident that both structures were already “fully involved” when their crews were notified.
Personnel from Randle Fire & EMS and Lewis County Fire District 10 responded to the blaze and contained it before it could spread to other homes and campsites.
According to Randle Fire & EMS, two people were displaced by the fire, but suffered no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
“Once the scene was stabilized and the fire was no longer a threat, neighbors generously brought meals to our crews,” the department said on Facebook.
The aid crew responded by showing children their ambulance and answering questions.
“Acts of kindness like these mean more than words can express,” the department said. “We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and professionalism of our firefighters, our rehab unit for keeping crews healthy and ready, and our amazing community for their unwavering support. Your generosity helps ensure our firefighters have the energy and resources to keep serving when it matters most.”
