Arbor Health released a statement on Monday announcing Jeff Jaques’ appointment to the Arbor Health Stroke and Trauma Committee as the representative for East Lewis County’s emergency medical services.

Jaques currently serves as Randle’s fire chief and an emergency medical technician. He has served the Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 14 since February 1996.

The Stroke and Trauma Committee meets twice a quarter and is composed of representatives from many clinical departments at Arbor Health Morton Hospital. The committee monitors the Morton hospital’s “complication rates and overall outcomes of trauma and stroke patients.”

Sara Williamson, the chief nursing and quality officer at Arbor Health Morton Hospital, said, “Chief Jaques is a great addition to this committee … His participation will greatly aid collaborative communication between Arbor Health and our area’s EMS to further improve the health and well-being of our community. We were very pleased when he accepted the position.”
