Rainier third, Black Hills fifth at Stocking Stuffer

Three area girls wrestling teams from Thurston County went up to Hoquiam on Wednesday for the Grizzly Stocking Stuffer, with Rainier finishing third, Black Hills taking fifth, and Tenino placing 10th out of 20 schools.

The area came away with two individual champions. At 110, Black Hills’ Sloane Kruger won all three of her matches by pin in the first round to come away a winner, and at 190, Rainier’s Katherine Kinahan followed two first-round pins with a third-round pin to win her own title.

Behind Kinahan, Rainier got third-place finishes from Emma Desotell (110), Annabelle Whiteman (140) and Chloe Willis (234), while Kiera Anderson (170) was fifth and Madison Deane (155) was sixth).



For Black Hills, Estrella Ayala-Martinez was fourth at 155 and Maddie Mounts was fourth at 125. Eden Combs (120) placed fifth), and Wren Neklason (135) and Lizzy Grunenfelder (145) both took sixth.

Tenino had three placers, with Nataliah Chacon (135) taking second and Dakota Lees (170) and Ynavi Rodriguez (190) both finishing third in their respective divisions.
