Rainier powers its way past Winlock

The Rainier baseball team put up double digits in multiple innings on Monday, rolling to a 25-6 victory over Winlock.

The Mountaineers scored four in the first before plating 10 runs in the second, and they added 10 more in the fourth to make it 24-3 going into the fifth.

As a team, Rainier collected 23 hits. Nine different players recorded at least one hit, and all 12 Mountaineers who stepped to the plate drove in at least one run. 

Peyton Sheaffer tallied five hits and five runs batted in, while Yakama Gurnsey added five hits of his own, drove in a run, and scored four more.

Blake Fennel hit two doubles and tallied four RBIs as part of his four-hit day, and Hunter Howell hit a double and drove in three runs.

Rainier (4-9, 4-9 C2BL) and Winlock (2-11, 2-12 C2BL) will face off again on Wednesday in Rainier.
