Everything was clicking at the plate on Thursday for the Rainier softball team, which put up 27 runs in four innings in its 27-2 win over Winlock.

It was 6-0 Rainier through two, but the Mountaineers piled on with 21 runs over the next two innings to build an insurmountable lead.

Ryleigh Cruse was unstoppable at the plate, as she collected five hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in six runs. Keira Anderson and Gracie Lantz added three hits apiece and both drove in four. Mia Naval and Ellyana Henry combined for another five hits and four RBIs.

Henry was also solid in the circle, striking out three while allowing just two hits, two runs, and three walks across five innings.

After the break, both teams will return on Monday, April 14. Rainier (5-2) will host Toledo and Winlock (0-6) will head to Toutle Lake. Both games are league games.
