The Rainier girls basketball team ended its regular season on a high note on Wednesday, as the Mountaineers dismantled Kalama in an 87-36 win.

Rainier (19-2, 11-2 C2BL) came out firing on all cylinders, as they raced out to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter.

The second and third quarters were more tightly contested, but the Mountaineers proceeded to erase any doubt in the fourth by outscoring the Chinooks 28-3 in the final frame.

Brooklynn Swenson hit four threes en route to a team-high 22 points, while Angelica Askey scored 19 and Bryn Beckman added 17.

Rainier finishes the regular season as the No. 3 seed in the C2BL standings, meaning they’ll play a first-round game in the district tournament on Saturday against either Kalama or Morton-White Pass.
