Pyramid on Front St., a new business in Winlock, has scheduled a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for March 22, according to the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.

The former Pyramid Flour building has been completely remodeled and repurposed as an event space.

The grand opening will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. with tours, food sampling from Shadow’s Farms of Winlock and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony by the chamber of commerce.

Singer Jennifer Bejcek will perform. Pyramid on Front St. is located at 204 NE Front St.

“More than a year ago, David and Karen Thelin had a vision that (they) shared with long-time friends and business associates Jason and Kristi Spears to invest in a growing community,” the chamber stated in the release. “Their combined goal was to create an event space while also restoring a historic building and contributing to the legacy of the community. Thelin found the property in Winlock that gave the partners this opportunity.”

The Pyramid on Front St. was originally built in the 1920s and opened as Pyramid Flour.

“Winlock is primed for growth, and we are excited to be part of the revitalization,” Jason Spears said in the release. “We’ve completed a full remodel of the building. We’ve kept the original brick on the inside and brought the exterior back to its original state.”

The remodel was done by Neil Harris along with Liz Borders, who was the visionary for the design.

“She was instrumental in getting us to the finish line,” Spears said.

The 2,400-square-foot space has been divided into two sections. The front of the building is rented to Shadow's Farm, which will be serving food for the grand opening. The other half of the facility offers an event rental space that seats up to 80 for dining and 110 standing capacity. The venue includes a wet bar, tables, chairs and restrooms.

David Thelin is a real estate agent in Southwest Washington. He and his wife, Karen, are currently the owners of another event venue in Longview, The Party Place at Studio Pink. Jason and Kristi Spears are mortgage originators for VIP Mortgage in Longview-Kelso.
