The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team lost both ends of its doubleheader against Ilwaco on Tuesday, losing the first game 6-4 before dropping the second 7-3.
The Titans came out strong in Game 1, taking a 3-0 lead in the first two innings, but Ilwaco chipped away with one in the third and fourth and took the lead with three in the sixth.
Lucas Lusk finished 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, while Brayden Ruddell hit a double of his own and drove in two. Eddie Clements also collected two hits.
PWV took the lead again in Game 2 with a run in the second, but Ilwaco scored four unearned runs in the fourth and added three more runs in the seventh to open up a 7-1 lead.
Clements allowed just two hits and the four unearned runs in four innings as the game’s start, and Kannyon Clements allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) and struck out five in three innings of relief.
Ruddell drove in another two runs and finished 2 for 3 with a double, and Kannyon Clements hit a triple and scored a run.
The Titans (1-2, 0-2 P2BL) are off until Monday, when they’ll head to Onalaska to face the Loggers in a non-league clash.
