Public invited to help plant trees at Seminary Hill Natural Area

Over the next two weekends, all are invited to a pair of tree-planting events at the Seminary Hill Natural Area in Centralia.

Volunteers will work under experienced arborists to plant several hundred native saplings as part of an ongoing reforestation project alongside the natural area’s accessible trail.

Come out from 9 a.m. to noon over the next two Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 24, and join other volunteers. There will be jobs available for those of different interests and activity levels, plus refreshments for the volunteers.

“It’s so much fun to work alongside other people who love nature,” said Brian Mittge, president of the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area. “And the best part is that you’ll be able to watch the trees you planted grow into giants over the years. Come join us and make a difference by planting trees for the ages.”
