Public Health: COVID-19 Cases, Deaths and Hospitalizations Reported Decrease in Lewis County

Lewis County Public Health reported decreases in three statistics that show COVID-19 activity locally over the most recent reporting week, from July 29 to Aug. 4, in a weekly report.

Where 118 were reported the week prior, public health counted 103 new COVID cases in its most recent update.

The county is not able to include cases discovered through at-home testing.

There were eight new hospitalizations from the viral disease and no new deaths during the same time period.

There are currently four active outbreaks in congregate care settings, which is the same as the week prior.



At the Lewis County Mall testing site in that week, 192 individuals were tested; 11,579 tests have been administered since the site opened on November 26, 2021.

According to the county, 57.6% of all residents had initiated their primary COVID-19 vaccination series and 52.2% of all residents had completed their primary vaccination series as of the most recent update.
