The Arbor Health Foundation, Providence Southwest Washington Foundation and Centralia College Foundation were recipients of the Fibre Federal Credit Union’s (FFCU) “Communities First” sponsorship program, the credit union announced on Wednesday.

The program, according to a news release, is a multi-year sponsorship for selected hospitals and community colleges within the 11 Washington and Oregon counties the credit union serves.

Fibre Federal places a high priority on supporting educational and healthcare related services throughout its communities, the news release said, and that mission developed into the Communities First Program in 2018.

To date, the credit union has donated $191,500 to Communities First recipients, including 13 hospital foundations and seven community college foundations.

The 2023 donation funds, according to the release, will be used in the following ways:

• Arbor Health Foundation will use the donation for Morton Hospital’s Emerald City Auction and Dinner fundraising event.

• Providence Southwest Washington Foundation’s funds will help expand awareness of the PAWS program through internal billboards at Providence Centralia Hospital.

• Centralia College Foundation’s funds went toward two scholarships for students pursuing a degree in business.
