W.F. West came up short in a nonleague girls golf match on Thursday, losing 107-62 to Yelm at Newaukum Valley Golf Course.
The match was scored using the Stableford system, which rewards players with points for their hole-by-hole score in relation to par.
Haley Simmons led a shorthanded Bearcat squad with 18 points. Abbey Link notched 14 points and Emma Finley added 10.
Addie Ford led Yelm with 26 points.
W.F. West (1-1) hosts Rochester, back at Newaukum Valley, on Wednesday.
