Months after a woman was stabbed in a downtown Portland bar, police said a tactical team arrested a suspect in the case on Wednesday.
Tony O’Neal Taylor, Jr., 33, is accused of first- and second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing in the Dec. 20, 2025, incident, court records say. The attack left the woman with injuries that required major surgery.
Court records indicate that Taylor and the victim didn’t know each other.
Taylor arrived at the packed River Pig Saloon at 529 Northwest 13th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on the night of the stabbing and pushed the woman shortly after he got there, a probable cause affidavit states.
“Do you want to get sliced? Do you want to get sliced?” he said after the woman pushed him back, according to court records.
He then pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in the stomach before fleeing the scene in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, court records allege.
He also held the knife in front of another woman’s face and told her, “I’m gonna (expletive) stab you,” the affidavit alleges.
The woman Taylor allegedly attacked suffered a stab wound that punctured her intestine and required surgery, court records say.
Police used surveillance footage and cellphone records to identify Taylor and track him to his home in the 5100 block of Northeast 14th Place. Tactical officers arrested him on a warrant, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement.
Taylor doesn’t have any previous convictions in Oregon.
