This Saturday, July 18, the Pacific Northwest Cookie Company’s Espresso! Coffee Stand will host a “cookie block party” starting at 7 p.m., according to a Facebook post by the local business.
Featuring free cookies for attendees, the event is being held to celebrate “summer the best way we know how: with cookies, coffee (and) community.”
Along with free cookies, the coffee stand will be open with drinks for sale, and the event is also meant to be a “community photoshoot featuring the people who make this community so special (yes, we're talking about YOU!),” Pacific Northwest Cookie Company said on Facebook. “This might just be the social event of the summer. Bring your friends, meet your neighbors, grab a cookie, and come hang out!”
An Adna-based company, the Pacific Northwest Cookie Company was founded by Callie Carpenter and is run by her and her family. It is known for its 100% vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and preservative-free cookies.
The family started working on their recipes to make them taste like traditional recipe cookies with flour and eggs after one of Carpenter’s siblings developed severe gluten and dairy allergies.
Since taking their recipes to market in 2018, the company has gone from producing a few hundred cookies a week to roughly 2,000 a week in 2021 to approximately 10,000 cookies a week, Carpenter previously told The Chronicle in 2024.
The Pacific Northwest Cookie Company’s Espresso! Coffee Stand is located at 272 N. Market Blvd. in downtown Chehalis.
