The Adna boys basketball team won its third game in a row and stayed perfect in league play on Thursday by defeating Toledo 52-40.

The Pirates led just 18-16 at halftime, but they scored 34 points in the second half to pull away. As a team, they finished the night shooting 60 percent from the field.

“They were more efficient on offense than we were,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “We just couldn’t get a lot to fall.”

The Riverhawks won the rebounding battle 31-17, but other than that, Fallon said, it was advantage Adna.

“We just got outplayed tonight,” Fallon said. “(Adna coach) Luke (Salme) had them prepared, and he usually does … They were in their comfort zone, and we were kind of out of it tonight. We couldn’t really get comfortable.”

Trevin Salme led the Pirates with 17 points, while Grayson Humphrey and Gavan Muller weren’t far behind with 11 each.

Cooper Fallon led Toledo with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists, and Eli Weeks added seven assists and four points. Tyce Vigre also had a nice night, scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds.

Both teams are at home on Saturday, when the Pirates (3-1, 3-0 C2BL) host Rainier, while the Riverhawks (2-1, 2-1 C2BL) will welcome Onalaska.
