The Adna baseball team manufactured a run in the fifth inning on Monday, and that’s all the Pirates needed to top Pe Ell-Willapa Valley and stay undefeated.
Brody Richards, Jack Penngton, and Danner Hoinowski were dominant on the mound for Adna, as they combined to allow just two hits and strike out 16 Titans in the shutout victory.
Liam Smaciarz was just as impressive for PWV, but he was charged with the loss despite not giving up an earned run.
Bryce Pine was hit by a pitch to leadoff the fifth, he advanced to third on an error, and he later scored on a wild pitch for the game’s only run.
With the win, the Pirates now sit at 10-0, including a 9-0 mark in P2BL. They’ll be back at home on Wednesday, when they host Toutle Lake.
PWV (4-4, 2-2 P2BL) will also return home on Wednesday, when it will host Morton-White Pass in another non-league matchup.
