Down four runs and staring at a second straight loss for the first time all season, Adna’s baseball team buckled down in the later innings and pulled off a 9-7 comeback victory over Pe Ell-Willapa Valley on Friday afternoon in Adna.

Four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning tied the game at six on back-to-back RBI knocks from Daniel Hoinowski and Beau Miller, an error and a Reid Caviness run-scoring single. The Pirates (13-3) grabbed the lead with a three-run fifth, the big blow a two-run base hit by Miller.

Miller and Hoinowski each registered three hits at the plate. Aiden Percival tossed five-plus innings in relief and earned the win, allowing just three hits and one earned run.

PWV (11-3) jumped out to an early cushion with a six-run second. The first two scored on errors, then three straight RBI hits by Kannyon Clements, Blane King and Brayden Ruddell capped the frame. The Titans’ defense had five errors and the at-bats registered seven hits.

Adna hosts Onalaska on Friday. PWV plays at Ilwaco on Friday.
