It took the Adna girls soccer team to get going on Monday in Ocosta, but a pair of goals late in the first half kickstarted the Pirates, who rolled to a 7-1 victory.
“Very happy with our performance tonight,” Adna coach Patrick Richardson said. “Ocosta is always a tough place to play it seems, so it was good not to have to eke one out there.”
Adna didn’t get on the board until the 35th minute, when Ava Humphrey opened the scoring. Haley Roundtree added another before the break, when Richardson said they were able to discuss more of what adjustments they needed to make.
Roundtree scored her second in the 48th minute and finished off a hat trick in the 55th. Kortnie Clark added a goal in the 60th, Humphrey scored her second in the 70th, and Sophie Hagseth finished the scoring with a goal in the 75th.
Hagseth also earned an assist, as did Alyson Terry and Bailey Naillon, who got two.
“As we settled in, we did a good job of moving the ball around and giving ourselves different looks,” Richardson said.
Adna (4-5-2, 4-1 C2BL) will return home on Wednesday to host Onalaska.
