Pirates hit a new season-high in win over Winlock

The Adna softball team was unstoppable at the plate on Monday, when the Pirates scored a new season-high 29 runs in a 29-4 five-inning win over Winlock.

The Pirates scored six or more runs in three of the five innings, including an 11 spot in the top of the third that pushed a 7-1 lead to an 18-1 lead after three.

Ten Pirates tallied a hit, including six with multiple hits, and all 12 Pirates that got an at-bat drove in at least one run. Nine drove in multiple, including five who drove in three or more.

Kendall Humphrey finished with a team-high five RBIs and went 2 for 2 with three walks, while Hadleigh Gerard went 2 for 3 and drove in four runs.

Kimber Huber, Khloe Hunt, and Kaydence Groves drove in three runs each, and the trio combined for five hits.

Teagan Baggenstos pitched the first three innings, allowing three hits and an unearned run while striking out three. Avery LaFontaine got two innings of work in, allowing three runs (two earned) and striking out two.

Both teams will return to the diamond on Thursday, when Adna (8-3, 3-0 C2BL) will host Rainier on Thursday and Winlock (1-10, 0-4 C2BL) will head to Onalaska.
