Pirates drop fourth straight in loss to Plainsmen

The Adna girls soccer team lost its fourth straight game on Tuesday, falling to Evergreen (Vancouver) 4-0 at home.

The Plainsmen scored two goals in both halves, and they outshot the Pirates 19-9.

Adna coach Patrick Richardson said that he felt the game was closer than the scoreline indicated, saying that just a few defensive lapses led to multiple goals.

“I was happy with the effort put forth and the no-quit attitude,” Richardson said. “We have good stretches, we just have to put those stretches together.”

Richardson also isn’t batting an eye at the team’s record, which now sits at 0-4-1, though it does include losses to Yelm, Bethel, and Black Hills.

“We are still trying to find ourselves,” Richardson said. “But everyone is on the same page about how these games against larger schools challenge us to step up and be better.”

It’ll be another tough non-league matchup for the Pirates on Saturday morning, when they host North Thurston.
