The Adna girls basketball team started fast and didn’t let up against Toledo at home, drubbing the Riverhawks 71-22 on Friday.

Sophomore Gaby Guard led the Pirates with 22 points, going 3 for 7 from beyond the arc.

“The leading scorer in all four of our games has been someone different,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said. “To me, that’s the big thing. We’re sharing the ball really well. If we can stay unselfish and play off of each other, it’s fun to watch.”

Karlee VonMoos put up 14 points, and Hallom scored 12. Freshman Bailey Chapman scored seven, and also brought in a team-leading seven rebounds.

Paige Hill scored 11 of Toledo’s points, and Ryah Stanley had eight.

Adna (4-0, 2-0 C2BL) will take on 1A King’s Way Christian on the road Saturday. Toledo (2-2, 1-1 C2BL) will face off against Mount Vernon Christian.
