The Adna softball team dominated Raymond-South Bend on the road on Thursday, defeating RSB 22-1 to earn its first win of the season.

It was all Pirates from the first at-bat of the game, when Hadleigh Gerard was hit by a pitch to reach base. That kickstarted a six-run inning, one of three six-run frames the Pirates put up on the day.

Two more in the second and fourth put the Pirates at 22 and gave them an easy run-rule victory.

Teagan Baggenstos reached base in all five of her plate appearances, going 3 for 3 and driving in two while also drawing two walks and scoring four runs.

Danika Hallom and Alyssa Carroll both hit a home run and combined to drive in 10 runs and score six.

Gaby Guard also went 3 for 3, driving in three runs and scoring three more.

Avery LaFontaine allowed just three hits and an unearned run while walking four and striking out nine in five innings.

The Pirates will host their home-opener on Saturday, when Toledo comes to town for a non-league matchup.
