Pirates dominate Knights to open season with a win

The Adna girls basketball team couldn’t have asked for a much better start on Wednesday, as the Pirates dominated King’s Way Christian to the tune of a 65-27 victory in their season opener.

“I was really happy with our effort early on,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said.

The Pirates led by 12 after one, 22 at halftime, and 34 heading into the fourth quarter.

Karsyn Freeman led the offense with 28 points, while McKenna Torrey added 12. Danika Hallom scored eight, while Bailey Chapman grabbed eight rebounds and scored four points.

The Pirates (1-0) will play their home opener on Saturday against Annie Wright.
