Photos: With Flight Canceled, Santa Claus Still Makes Stop in Adna
.Santa high-fives kids outside the Adna Grocery Store on Saturday. After the event, which included a tree lighting ceremony, Jim Smith of Adna Grocery wrote: “What a great day it was. Cindy and I would like to thank everyone that came to Santa Comes to Adna. We hope that everyone had a great time. So sorry that the helicopter couldn’t fly because of the weather conditions but we had an offer from Sheriff Rob Snaza to bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to the Adna Grocery. A big thanks to Sheriff Sanza and his motorcycle officers. You made the day. Another big thanks to our helpers David and Dena Larson, Santa and Mrs. Santa, Presley Smith and her senior helpers, District 6 Fire Department, The Chronicle, KITI and everyone that donated to this awesome event. (Saturday morning) David Larson and I started out delivering Christmas dinners to 13 families. We delivered donated smoked turkeys and various other food items and then we came back to the Adna Grocery to help set up for Santa’s arrival. Every kid that came to visit Santa was able to sit on Santa’s lap and receive a gift.”
