A pedestrian died Saturday after he was struck by a pickup truck while walking in the on-ramp lane of Interstate 5 in Chehalis, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
Joseph W. Condoluci, 44, of Centralia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lewis County Chaplaincy Services have notified next of kin.
According to the memo, Dennis L. Richardson, 79, of Chehalis, was driving a 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck at the bottom of the on-ramp at about 3:50 a.m. when he struck Condoluci.
Richardson was uninjured in the collision.
WSP said it did not know whether drugs or alcohol had been involved in the incident. The cause of the collision was listed as “pedestrian in roadway.”
