Pe Ell Downs South Bend

The Pe Ell girls basketball team stuck to its blueprint for success so far this winter, riding a massive game from senior Charlie Carper with a whole lot of support from underclassmen in a 48-29 win over South Bend on Saturday.

Carper outscored South Bend herself, dropping a 30-point, 13-rebound, 11-steal triple-double.

Behind her, sophomore Ricki Coleman logged 10 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double of her own. Fellow sophomore Brookelynn King led the Trojans on the boards with 14 rebounds, while freshman Ava King had nine.

Pe Ell wouldn’t need a comeback this time around, outscoring South Bend 13-6 in the first quarter and 25-17 in the first half, then holding its guests to just 12 points in the latter 16 minutes.

Pe Ell (5-2, 1-1 1B CVL) will face Ocosta on Monday.
