Pe Ell finished off a perfect regular season on Thursday, defeating Columbia Adventist 60-20 to improve to 18-0.

The Kodiaks kept pace with the Trojans in the first quarter, but Pe Ell outscored CAA 35-2 across the second and third.

“We finally settled down offensively and were more disciplined defensively,” Pe Ell coach Kelsey Lennox said. “I was happy with the way the girls responded to switching up defenses, which we did several times throughout the game.”

Karli Phelps scored 14 points and tallied eight steals, while Emma Kissner, Ava King, and Maisy King each added four steals.

Maisy King also had 10 rebounds and five points, Kissner added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Ava King scored four points.

Peyton Zock scored eight points and brought down 13 rebounds, while Devyn Shannon scored 11 points inside.

Prior to the game, the Trojans honored their lone senior, Brookelynn King, who missed a majority of the season with a leg injury.

Thursday’s match was just her third game back, and she scored three points.

“I’m so proud of her hard work, her dedication to this team, and most of all, her humility through this whole setback,” Lennox said. “She is the epitome of a teammate and a leader.”

As the No. 1 seed from the Columbia Valley League, Pe Ell (18-0, 10-0 CVL) will host Mary M. Knight, the Coastal’s No. 4 seed, next Thursday, Feb. 13.
