Passenger van crashes into semi on I-5 offramp in Thurston County; two injured

Two people were injured in a crash with a semi on southbound Interstate 5 in Thurston County on Wednesday. 

The crash was reported at approximately 8:23 a.m. on March 25. The exit ramp from southbound I-5 to state Route 121 was blocked for three hours and six minutes, according to a Washington State Patrol incident report. 

A gray 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter driven by Jason D. Workman, 55, of Oakville, was reportedly taking the exit onto state Route 121 when it left the roadway and struck a semi on the right shoulder. 



Workman was transported to Harborview Medical Center. His passenger, Jenean L. Woods, 81, of Chehalis, was transported to Capital Medical Center. 

The driver of the semi, identified as Vitalii Kuzhel, 27, of Troutdale, Oregon, was uninjured. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
