A Packwood woman faces allegations she headbutted a nurse after she assaulted her boyfriend, broke multiple windows and punched a vehicle during a domestic dispute.

Randi J. Haviland, 29, is charged with single counts of second-degree malicious mischief and fourth-degree assault — both considered domestic violence — for the alleged home altercation.

She faces an additional count of third-degree assault for the alleged attack on the nurse.

Haviland made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Monday.

A court commissioner set bail at $25,000 cash or bond and granted a domestic violence no-contact order on behalf of the boyfriend and an order for Haviland to surrender any weapons within her possession.

The commissioner also granted a 30-minute civil standby allowing Haviland to obtain all of her necessary items from the shared residence.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a Lewis County sheriff’s deputy arrived at the Packwood home on April 17 as local fire department personnel and a state trooper were “attempting to secure Ms. Haviland to a stretcher.”

The deputy reportedly noted that Haviland “appeared extremely intoxicated and aggressive as she tried to remove the wrist and ankle restraints,” according to the affidavit.

After Haviland was transported to Arbor Health Morton Hospital, the deputy spoke with the victim, Haviland’s boyfriend, who reportedly indicated that Haviland had been drinking earlier that day.

Upon waking up from a nap, Haviland allegedly “became aggressive” and threw an object at a window, shattering one of the panes.

During the dispute, Haviland allegedly hit the victim and “punched through the two windows next to the front door,” according to the affidavit.

Another caller reported that Haviland “was outside punching their vehicle and bleeding all over.”

At the hospital, the deputy reportedly saw the defendant headbutt a nurse.

“Ms. Haviland had to be sedated by hospital staff for their safety,” the affidavit says.

She was booked into the Lewis County Jail around 2:13 a.m. April 18, according to jail records.

Haviland has previously been convicted of second-degree malicious mischief, according to court documents.

Prosecutors during the hearing noted that six prior warrants have been issued for her arrest.

Haviland was scheduled for an arraignment on Thursday, April 23.
