Overbay sends Tumwater to winner-to-state contest

Luke Overbay registered a game-high 23 points on 10 field goals that lifted the Thunderbirds to a 54-36 thrashing of Washougal on Tuesday night at Centralia High School.

Tumwater (16-6) has its most wins in a regular season since the 22-win campaign two years ago. It led comfortably after the first quarter and ballooned the margin to 16 points at the half. Overbay also pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds.

Sahara Anthony III registered 12 points for the T-Birds while Jake Dillon chipped in 11. They went 10-of-13 from the free throw line and only made five 3-pointers.

Tumwater will face Ridgefield in a winner-to-state game on Thursday night in Woodland.
