A woman who killed her 4-year-old son in a Portland crash that happened while she was drunkenly fleeing a far less serious fender-bender has agreed to spend the next decade in prison.
Angelina Minor had an open bottle of vodka in her Hyundai Elantra when she sideswiped a parked car in St. Johns just before 9 p.m. last March 20, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The other driver reported following Minor as she blew through stop signs and then crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Tesla on North Fessenden Street near Mohawk Avenue, the affidavit says.
Her son, Kingston Coston, died of his injuries at a local hospital. Two other children and a man in the car survived.
Minor, now 29, pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree manslaughter and two counts of third-degree assault, according to prosecutor Christopher Shull.
Under the terms of a plea deal, Minor will be sentenced to 10 years and five months in state prison during a subsequent hearing, which has been delayed until Jan. 23 to accommodate Minor’s current pregnancy.
She has a prior DUII conviction from 2019, records show.
Salem teen sent to youth prison in Clackamas killing
Jasmine Rangel pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the death of a local DJ whose body was found dumped on the margin of Interstate 5 last year.
Rangel was 17 at the time of her arrest in the May 2024 killing of 42-year-old Oscar Lizardo Chaidez, who performed locally under the name “DJ Ozroc.”
Rangel, now 18, admitted guilt on Aug. 28 and will be under the custody or supervision of the Oregon Youth Authority until her 25th birthday.
In court, a Clackamas County prosecutor said Chaidez and Rangel had met up in Portland for a drug binge and were on their way home when Rangel stabbed the DJ repeatedly, according to the Statesman Journal.

A stranger who groped a 12-year-old girl in Mt. Tabor Park has been sentenced to three years in state prison.
Fernando J. Garces, 33, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree sex abuse and third-degree sex abuse before Multnomah County Circuit Judge Heidi H. Moawad on Aug. 17.
The girl’s mother reported that Garces lunged without warning at the girl as the family was enjoying a day in the park.
The judge ordered Garces to register as a sex offender and ordered five years of post prison supervision.
