One person found dead after early morning mobile home fire in Toledo

Detectives are investigating a fatal structure fire that occurred in the Toledo area early Thursday morning, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Firefighters and deputies were dispatched to a residential fire in the 300 block of Eadon Road in Toledo at about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. When crews arrived, they “discovered a fully involved mobile home fire, and once the fire was knocked down, they discovered a deceased person inside,” the sheriff’s office stated.

“This case remains active, and due to the nature of the investigation, no further information is being released at this time,” according to the sheriff’s office.

An autopsy has been scheduled and information regarding the decedent, including name and the cause and manner of death, “will be released by the Lewis County Coroner’s Office when appropriate,” according to the news release.
