A wreck on southbound Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome left one person dead Wednesday morning.
A driver struck a barrier and was unresponsive. They were taken to a local hospital where they died, Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo told The News Tribune.
No other vehicles were involved, Dattilo said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
All of the lanes are blocked at milepost 134.1 until further notice because of the emergency response for the one-vehicle crash. The HOV lane is open to all drivers, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The investigation might cause extended lane closures.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.
