Onalaska man wins Centralia College Speech Club Showcase

On May 7, David Ulrich, of Onalaska, won Centralia College Speech Club's 10th Annual Speech Showcase and received a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Tim Browning.

Ulrich is finishing his second year of college, working toward a career as a substance use disorder professional.

He served eight years as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force, both in the United States and in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.



Ulrich is a proud husband and father of two children. Outside of school, he's an ultramarathon runner.

Haiden Bartel, of Chehalis, was the runner up.  Esther Hopkins, of Centralia, received the Audience Choice award.
