The Onalaska girls basketball team got a much-needed bounceback victory on Thursday, cruising to a 70-38 victory over Chief Leschi in a 2B District 4 Tournament Elimination Game in Rochester.

The Loggers struggled offensively in their quarterfinal loss, but they didn’t take long to find their rhythm with their season on the line.

Randi Haight caught fire in the first, hitting three three-pointers and scoring 11 points, and Kaiyah Sandridge added nine points in the second to help Onalaska build a 37-11 halftime lead.

Haight added two more threes in the second half, and Mia Olson and Emalie Jacoby also hit two three-pointers each after the break.

Haight finished with a game-high 23 points, Jacoby scored 19, and Sandridge ended the night with nine. Leah Hamilton added seven, Olson tallied six, and both Greta Oien and Renzy Marshall chipped in two.

“Tonight was a great team win,” Onalaska coach Alana Olson said. “It was nice to come out early and knock down some outside shots. The girls did a nice job sharing the ball and making the extra pass. We will enjoy the win tonight, and then get back to work tomorrow and be ready for the next one.”

That next one will come on Tuesday in Castle Rock against Rainier. The winner will face the loser of the Adna-Toutle Lake semifinal in a winner-to-state game next Thursday in Rochester.
